Mission: To provide medical and emergency assistance to former athletes, both men & women, who lettered in their perspective sports while attending a university or college in the State of Nebraska.
From the moment a Nebraska athlete steps onto our campus, they become part of the Husker family. These athletes have played a major part in creating memories for not just the coaches and fellow players, but for the fans. Who remembers the Pipeline of 1994? How about the hard running by Jeff Kinney or the amazing dual sport athleticism of Darin Erstad. The memories go on forever with fondness – and delightful frustration and we savor every moment.
There are some of our “memory makers” that are in desperate need of our financial help for medical illnesses that are no longer manageable. And because they are FAMILY, we need to help and let them know, WE still care.
The Foundation is structured so that payments will be made directly to the medical providers of services/products needed by our recipients. Your tax deductible donation will lighten the burden of financial worries, allowing our athletes to concentrate on getting well.
Jerry Murtaugh, one of the founders of this Husker Greats Foundation, has organized a Board of Directors comprised of Husker Athletes to assure that we do everything possible for our “memory makers”. And now, YOU can help those who thrilled you while gathered around the stadium, the television, your computer or radio. Won’t you help us help them?
